For products and servicesThe six steps for products and services are all important. It takes more than a good idea to be successful. Every step without exception, is important. The bottom line is , "will I make money with the idea." The six steps is to ensure that answer is yes.
The first step is an honest evaluation. By that I mean an assessment that answers yes or no you have a chance to make money not flattering words to sell you another service. Don't let anyone convince you of another service first. In the first chapters there are more than 75 activities to give you a reality check of what you need to know and how to look at your idea from different angles. It is a college education for new product development in itself. Step two and three are debatable. Often people will tell you to protect the idea at all costs. As the information explains in detail, sometimes a prototype is the next step. Other times some type of intellectual property is necessary. I cover both and why. For the patent section, there are 13 pertinent questions to ask yourself, along with 23 questions answered and real life examples of some who have files for patents. The data will allow you to make a decision with your eyes wide open, like a seasoned veteran, and not waste money. For example, you need to know how many patents really make money? How many are abandoned? What is the difference between strong and weak patents? And more. Prototyping is a key area where a lot of money and opportunities are wasted. There are many other advantages to a prototype such as bringing the idea to life; finding out if your product delivers what it promises; verifying if the prototype matches customer expectations; testing if the product can be produced; seeing if the design matches customer expectations ; obtaining true production costs; better testing; obtaining manufacturing costs, etc. Done right, its a plus. Done wrong, its a money pit. Communicating, licensing, launching, selling, places to sell, packaging, successful press releases and contracts are some of the subjects covered in the remaining sections. If you have a product and a dream, the information will have your eyes glued to the page. Every page has information concerning your success.
